Arts Council's final event in the 9th Annual Parks Concert Series is Pups in the Park with West End Mambo on Sunday, October 20 from 2-5pm. The event series, presented in partnership with Forsyth County Government, provides free, family-friendly concerts showcasing local and national musicians in beautiful outdoor venues.
The October 20 concert features West End Mambo, a band comprised of musicians from North, South, and Central America that performs a fiery mix of classic salsa from bolero and rumbas to guaracha and son montuno. Their repertoire includes original orchestral salsa arrangements which they have performed with the Winston-Salem and Greensboro Symphonies.
Bring your canine companions for this special "Pups in the Park" concert! Well-behaved dogs (on leash) are welcome to enjoy the beautiful grassy field of Triad Park.
Kids and adults can participate in a family-friendly maker activity led by Kaleideum, Winston-Salem's experiential learning museum (sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities).
Pups in the Park with West End Mambo takes place at the Triad Park Amphitheater (9652 W Market St, Kernersville, NC). Free parking is available adjacent to the field. Gates open at 1pm; the concert will be 2-5pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, and may bring a picnic or purchase food from vendors onsite. Wine, beer, and water will be available for purchase, with all proceeds supporting Arts Council. No outside alcohol is permitted.
In the event of inclement weather, the concert will take place at Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts (251 N Spruce Street, Winston-Salem) without dogs. Check Arts Council’s website and social media for day-of venue updates https://www.intothearts.org/campus-events/west-end-mambo
