Join Forsyth 4-H for a fun-filled day of forestry, including tree identification and measuring, pacing, and more. Please bring your own lunch, and water, as well as a face covering in case we are in a dense, crowded spot. This event is for youth ages 10-18 at Horizons Park in Rural Hall, NC, and is tentatively from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Emails will be sent to all registered attendees to confirm times. Contact ksgressl@ncsu.edu or 336-703-2851 for accommodations related to a disability. Clipboards, pencils, sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat are recommended. The event is hosted by Forsyth County 4-H, and the NC Forest Service. We will explain, teach, and practice the skills needed for the 4-H Forestry Contest. Learn more about 4-H Forestry here. This event is for brand new AND experienced youth, as well as their leaders. The morning will consist of education on pacing/compassing/orienteering; tree identification; tree measurement; and bug/disease identification, as well as some fun games.
