Swarming usually takes place in late spring or early summer, but the Forsyth County Extension Center is already receiving reports that swarming is occurring now. A honey bee swarm results when a portion of an existing hive emerges, with a queen, to start a new colony. The bees cluster on an object until a suitable home is found. Clusters are typically not dangerous and should just be left alone. The bees will likely relocate within 24-48 hours. If the swarm cluster is in a location that might pose a risk to people or animals your local county Extension center can provide references for local beekeepers that collect swarms.
