Forsyth County property tax bills are due Monday, Jan. 6, and personal property listings should be arriving in the mail this week.
The grace period for paying property bills runs until January 6, 2020 (since Jan. 5 falls on a Sunday). Property tax bills can be paid by mail, in person or online. Transaction fees will apply for online payments. Payments are accepted in person at the Tax Collections Office on the first floor of the Forsyth County Government Center, 201 North Chestnut Street, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. during regular business days. A payment dropbox is located on the Chestnut Street side of the Government Center and is accessible 24 hours a day for your convenience. Forsyth County Offices will be closed on January 1.
Property owners should receive property listing forms and information in the mail on or before January 1. If you are listing for the first time or have not received your listing form in the mail, you can contact the Tax office at 336-703-2300 or by visiting the office in-person.
The mailing for both tax bills and personal property listings include an insert that allows property owners to receive future bills and listings by email instead of through postal mail. The insert contains a unique code that allows the property owner to sign up for this paperless electronic option. If you sign up to receive bills and listings electronically, you can make changes to your listings and pay your bills though the emails you receive.
