Five very diverse farms in Forsyth, Stokes and Surry Counties are opening their gates to visitors for guided tours. The farms featured in this event are Apple & Green City Farm in Winston-Salem, Armstrong Artisan Farm in Walnut Cove, Borrowed Land Farm in Pinnacle, Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery in Germanton, and Plum Granny Farm in King.
Each farm will offer guided tours as well as a range of activities from going on a hayride at Plum Granny Farm to petting baby goats at Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery. This is a great opportunity to learn more about where your food comes from and get a glimpse behind the gates of these five highly regarded Triad–area farms.
The tour is FREE and all ages are welcome – this is a great event for children to experience farm life up-close. Wear comfortable shoes and bring cash and a cooler (you’ll be able to buy produce, eggs, cheese, meat and other products at the farms). Several farms will offer food for sale.
Please leave your dogs and other pets at home. For an interactive map of the event, go to http://tinyurl.com/NorthernTriadFarmTour18. Also check out the Tour Facebook Page (@NorthernTriadFarmTour) or each of the farms’ Facebook pages for more details.
