On Tuesday, July 23, Tanglewood will continue its third annual summer series: Tuesdays at Tanglewood with the program Who Lives Here? White-tailed Deer!
Gain a better understanding of one of the park’s most common wildlife residents and find out what makes Tanglewood (and your yard!) such an ideal habitat for North Carolina's largest wild herbivore. See examples of deer-resistant plants and find out ways to prevent deer-related damage to your lawn or garden. Play some "endeering" games and take part in a fun make-and-take craft activity. To participate in the Who Lives Here? White-tailed Deer program, meet at Shelter 2 at 10:00 am.
The Tuesdays at Tanglewood programs are part of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools The Amazing Summer ESCAPE Challenge. Click the link for more information and to register your student today!
The summer programs feature a variety of nature activities and will be free to the public, with the exception of the $2 per vehicle Tanglewood Park entrance fee for all programs at Shelter 2 and Walnut Hall. Registered RV campers and annual pass holders do not pay the entrance fee.
These programs will be take place on most Tuesdays beginning June 18 through August 20 at 10:00 am. All programs last approximately an hour.
Participants should bring their own sunscreen, insect repellent, and water bottle, and wear comfortable hiking clothes and shoes. The programs are designed for all ages, but children ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
