The second annual Carolina Oktoberfest hosted by WSJS will take place at Tanglewood Park on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Come out and enjoy live music, great food, craft beers and exhibitors!
The gates will open at noon, and the entire event will last until 6:00 pm. Parking lots will be open at 11:00 am. Event goers will be able to sample beers from national and local craft breweries including North Carolina’s own Foothills Brewery, Highland Brewing Company, Natty Greene’s Brewing Company and Lonerider Brewing Company.
This year’s music line-up will feature the bluegrass sounds of Ray Edwards & Hard Rock Mountain, the greatest hits of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s era by The Plaids and southern rock by the Dirt Road Travelers. There will be a cornhole tournament at 3:00 pm. Be sure to come by and compete for your chance to win a free cornhole set!
The first 1,000 tickets are only $12! After the first 1,000 tickets are sold, ticket prices will be only $20 in advance and $30 at the gate. To purchase advance tickets, please go online at carolinaoktoberfest.com and pay through their PayPal link. Your PayPal receipt serves as your ticket. Be sure to bring your state issued ID in order to participate in the beer sampling and to purchase any alcoholic beverage. Designated Driver/Non-drinking tickets are $15 and are available at the gate only.
The Alzheimer's Association is the featured non-profit for the 2012 Carolina Oktoberfest. Join in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s earlier in the day on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Tanglewood Park’s Shelter 2. All walkers who wear their purple wristband received at the Walk when they register/check-in will receive a 50% discount at the gate for Oktoberfest admission.
Starting September 1, tickets can be purchased at Whole Foods Market in Greensboro, Whole Foods Market in Winston-Salem, Foothills Brewing, First Street Draught House and City Beverage Co.
This year, no pets, no umbrellas, no coolers, no outside food or alcohol will be allowed. There will also be no re-entry. Event goers are allowed to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Small tents will be allowed and there will be a designated area for people who have brought tents.
Your ticket covers stage entertainment, sample tasting from over 20 craft breweries, a program guide, a commemorative sample glass, special offers from sponsors and a ‘seat on the grass’. Tickets are limited to a crowd of 5,000 so be sure to purchase your ticket in advance so you do not miss out on the second annual Carolina Oktoberfest!
