Have you seen those little pots of growing and blooming flowers in the garden centers and grocery stores in the winter? Getting those flower bulbs to bloom out of season is called “forcing” the bulbs. You choose bulbs, plan and plant in the fall. So you’ll want to start thinking now if you want to have growing flower bulbs in the winter. And this is a great science project if you have children as you will be teaching them how a plain brown package of stored energy like a flower bulb bursts into life and bloom.
Join us as a Forsyth County Master Gardener shows us how to choose and prepare our bulbs for forcing. Presented by the Forsyth County Cooperative Extension Service.
