September is Library Card Sign up Month
Here’s a quick test for you. Open your wallet, or purse, pull out every 3 ½” x 2” plastic card you find and lay them side-by-side on a table. Now, which of these cards is of the most value to you? Credit cards? Gas cards? Cards from leading retailers perhaps? The fact of the matter is the single most valuable piece of 3 ½” x 2” plastic property you can carry in your wallet, or purse, is a library card.
With a library card there is no limit on its use. With it the keys to unlimited knowledge, learning and inspiration are yours for the asking. Having a library card gives you access to millions upon millions of dollars worth of resources; from books to DVD’s, from online tutoring services for your kids to downloadable audio books for your IPod.
Best of all there is no monthly fee for carrying our card and there is no limit on its use. And it’s yours to have absolutely free. During September libraries across North Carolina are encouraging everyone without a library card to take the time to stop by their local library and apply for one and. It only takes a couple of minutes to do so, and you can start using it immediately.
Your library card, it’s the new status symbol of wealth and privilege that will have everyone marveling at just how smart you really are.
