Annual Arboretum Spring Plant Sale
Join the Cooperative Extension at their annual Spring Plant Sale in the Arboretum at Tanglewood Park. This year sale plants will include heirloom tomatoes and vegetables, annuals, perennials, native wildflowers, shrubs, and ground cover. The sale runs April 15, 17-18, 22, and 24-25 from 9 am to noon.
Also, FREE garden related workshops will take place in the arboretum at 11:00 am each day of the sale. Speakers include:
Heirloom Tomatoes
April 15
Heirloom tomatoes are the rage and you can learn all the “how to’s” from David Bare of Reynolda Gardens.
Backyard Birds
April 17 Saturday
“Wild Birds Unlimited” owner Diane informs us about how to feed, and identify local birds.
Wildflower Tour
April 18
Curators (Anne Hester & Peg Simm) of the Wildflower garden will guide us on a magical tour of wildflowers blooming in the garden trail.
Planning Annual Flower beds
April 22
Preparation of beds, design concepts, easy vs. demanding plants to grow in our area. Cat McSwain speaker.
Unconventional Container Gardening
