Fishing and Boating

Tanglewood Park offers fishing at Mallard Lake and Skilpot Lake.

• All Tanglewood Park Rules and Regulations apply.
• Any polluting of the water by urination, defecation, or littering is prohibited and will result in forfeiture of use of Mallard Lake at Tanglewood Park.
• Personal/Private watercrafts are not permitted. A public access to the Yadkin River is available at the canoe access off of Highway 158 between the park entrance and bridge.
• No trespassing will be allowed in the park after closing. Nighttime use of Mallard Lake and its facilities is strictly prohibited.
• Bank fishing is allowed in designated areas only.
• Fishing requires a State Fishing License. All North Carolina Wildlife Fish and Game regulations apply.
• Fishing is open year round, daily from 7 am to dusk.

*Fees: All fishing passes are purchased at the front gate upon entering the park

Mallard Lake operating hours are subject to change due to inclement weather or staffing needs.

Pedal Boats: $5 per 1/2 hour
(Pedal Boats seat up to 4 people)
