Fine particle concentrations are increasing across the area as a backdoor cold front sags south and a more polluted air mass arrives in its wake. Daily averages are expected to net out in the lower Code Yellow range today. That front will remain to the south of the area this weekend and high pressure will be extending into our area. Expect drier conditions than what we have had recently and with that air mass remaining in place, particle pollution is expected to remain Moderate. Ozone concentrations may be on the increase as well due to the increased sunshine but with upstream readings hovering in the Code Green range and weekend emissions, averages are expected to net out Code Green. By Monday, southwesterly flow will return as the surface high pressure drifts offshore. We will begin to see more in the way of clouds again as humidity levels increase and storm chances increase as well. AQI readings are expected to fall back to the upper Code Green range as a result.
