The Ardmore Gateway Garden

  1. The Ardmore Gateway Garden426 S Hawthorne Rd
    Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Partnered with the non-profit organization Sustainable+Ardmore the Ardmore Gateway Garden is located on Hawthorne Rd. across from the Ronald McDonald House. The development of the three adjoining lots is the responsibility of AGG and S+A but the land is provided by Baptist Hospital for a yearly nominal fee. Our mission is to teach members in the community about growing food using sustainable organic practices, raising awareness of the importance of supporting locally grown foods, and addressing food security concerns within the community. We also want to help build and sustain social relationships among members of the neighborhood and the surrounding community. The produce grown in our garden supports our monthly community lunch, is given to the members of the Ardmore neighborhood as well as to volunteers and garden members as compensation for time spent working in the garden. Through our mission we hope to improve the lives of the community by promoting health and wellness in both healthful foods and healthy social relationships.
